Hello and welcome to a Brighter Better Orrell!
Brighter Better Orrell was born out of a desire by a few people to clean up and improve our area.
On a dark and dank Sunday evening in January 2020, four people went on the first community litter pick. Enthused by each other, they embarked, using social media, on a journey to enhance Orrell both environmentally and socially.
We now have a committee of 8 hard working volunteers, all with different skills but having one thing in common.
We want to make a difference.
Over the years we have moved and adapted to the changes Covid 19 brought to us, realising how much our community needed support through a very difficult and challenging time.
We want our Facebook page and website to be owned by the community. We are not a select group of people and welcome everyone to join us for a few hours, either on a regular basis or just from time to time. Just so long as we are all working together to keep Orrell a beautiful place to live, with people who look out for each other.
Follow us, but more importantly join us. Do your bit and report anything that needs improving or repairing on the council app, join our band of litter pickers, send in your ideas, run an event and tell us about people who may need help.
